The Irish Linen Guild was founded in 1928. Its role is to promote and protect the enviable reputation of Irish linen worldwide. The descriptor "Irish Linen" can only ever be used if the fabric is woven in Ireland. Fabric which is woven outside Ireland and brought to Ireland to be bleached/dyed and finished cannot be called Irish linen. Please check with the Guild for provenance.
